Project aims
Climate Collective Oxford seeks to develop highly participatory workshops with diverse groups from around the city, uncovering and exploring the connections between the many social and environmental challenges that face us today, and facilitating a solutions-focused approach towards them.
Project description
Climate Collective Oxford is designing a workshop on the intertwined crises of ecology and social justice. The workshop will invite participants to uncover and explore the connections between various apparently unrelated problems, and to think together about how we as a society can best respond to them. Our intention is to roll this out across the city, reaching out particularly to groups that do not usually engage with environmental issues. We passionately believe that stakeholder engagement is key to finding equitable solutions to the climate and associated crises, and aim to empower people to be part of the global conversation on how we confront the greatest challenges of our time.
We will recruit a community engagement coordinator who will assist in developing the workshop (including organising focus groups for test sessions), building relationships with potential participant groups, and updating our website and social media. Other associated costs include room hire, publicity and promotion, and design and printing of materials. An itemised budget is available if required. Once developed, this innovative workshop will be available for groups across the country to run in their own communities, thus sharing the learning and catalyst to positive change.
