Project aims
ASEED campaigns against fossil fertilizers and corporoate control in the agricultural system - while fighting for local food autonomy.
Project description
ASEED believes that grassroots power leads to social change, and that fossil fertilizers are a key, untapped battleground where fights for food justice, energy justice, and land justice converge. We believe that a well-connected, resilient movement with strong narratives that places farmers’ concrete solutions at the forefront can lead to powerful social change. ASEED has been doing unique work in the last years to connect food justice movements, farmers, the wider climate movement, and energy justice movements around the topic of fossil fertilizers. Despite lack of resources and precarious employment, we have played a central role in bringing this issue to social movements in Europe and taking action to challenge the fossil fertilizer industry’s social license. With increased funding, ASEED will be able to scale up our Fossil Free Agriculture Campaign and make significant impact along these two complementary axes: 1. Our Corporate Campaign: Bringing the topic of food justice to the anti-gas and broader climate movements, by intensifying and internationalizing our corporate campaign against fossil fertilizers, particularly in our new coalition created for this purpose. 2. Supporting Solutions: Amplifying and strengthening existing solutions to industrial agriculture, namely agroecological farming, while empowering individuals to become food autonomous.
