Project aims
To construct group hand washing stations and latrine blocks with features meeting the needs of menstruating female learners at Kadmi community seed secondary school, Kumi District- Eastern Uganda.
Project description
Project title: Equipping Schools with Girl-Friendly Toilets. Pamo Volunteers in partnership with the Network of Social Change, will help schools offer all their students, adequate sanitation and hygiene facilities by constructing drainable latrines, group hand washing stations and latrine blocks with features meeting the needs of menstruating female learners (namely a changing room and an incinerator for disposal of sanitary waste). In the partnership, the construction of sanitation and hygiene facilities and the organization of technical training workshops on sustainable operation and maintenance of these facilities will be led by Pamo Volunteers, financed by The Network of Social Change. Outcomes: Improved Attendance and Enrolment for girls; Enhanced Academic Performance; Better Health and Hygiene; Increased Dignity and Privacy; Gender Equality; Community Benefits. These outcomes collectively contribute to creating a more inclusive and supportive educational environment for girls.
