Project aims
the Queer Displaced Safe House project is to provide a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for LGBTQI+ individuals displaced due to persecution, violence, or discrimination, fostering their well-being, resilience, and social inclusion
Project description
The Queer Displaced Safe House project aims to establish a dedicated shelter and support facility for LGBTQI+ individuals who have been displaced due to persecution, violence, or discrimination. The project will provide a safe and affirming environment where displaced individuals can access essential services, including safe housing, psychosocial support, healthcare referrals, legal assistance, and skills development programs. Through comprehensive support and empowerment initiatives, the project seeks to address the unique needs and challenges faced by LGBTQI+ displaced individuals, fostering their well-being, resilience, and social inclusion. In addition to direct service provision, the project will engage in advocacy efforts to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and promote the rights and dignity of LGBTQI+ individuals within the broader community. By providing a supportive and empowering space, the Queer Displaced Safe House project aims to empower LGBTQI+ individuals to rebuild their lives with dignity, security, and hope for the future.
