Project description
The Horn of Africa People's Aid Northern Ireland (HAPANI) has been at the forefront of supporting, integrating, and empowering refugees and asylum seekers from the Horn of Africa and beyond. These individuals arrive in Northern Ireland facing a myriad of challenges that significantly hinder their ability to integrate and thrive in a new society. Language barriers, financial destitution, limited access to healthcare and education, difficulties in connecting with essential services, and obstacles to securing employment are just some of the hurdles they face. HAPANI's dedication to fostering social inclusion and equality has been instrumental in alleviating these challenges, providing a beacon of hope and support for those in dire need.
HAPANI's Refugee Advice Project stands as a critical initiative designed to address these multifaceted challenges. Through dedicated services and support, the project aims to significantly ease the transition of refugees into the local community, fostering a sense of belonging and enabling them to become active, contributing members of society. The project's focus on improving housing support and providing holistic assistance is essential for building a foundation from which these individuals can start anew.
