Our project connects refugees and asylum seekers with local community members through shared storytelling experiences. We'll train refugees and asylum seekers in storytelling techniques and create a digital platform where they can share their unique narratives with the local community. This platform will facilitate peer-to-peer interaction and cultural exchange, fostering inclusivity and understanding. Weekly online workshops led by experienced media professionals Guest lectures and talks from journalists from refugee and migrant backgrounds Collaborative projects creating news stories, short documentaries and social media campaigns Online platform for sharing and critiquing work, building a supportive community of creative expression Peer mentoring and feedback sessions within the online platform, building a supportive learning environment "Bridging Communities" empowers refugees with media literacy, storytelling skills, and English fluency, amplifying their voices, boosting confidence, and fostering community integration. This platform for shared stories breaks down social barriers, allowing refugees to advocate for themselves, share perspectives, and forge local connections. Local residents, immersed in firsthand narratives, gain empathy and insights, creating a more inclusive society with improved well-being for all. Leveraging our extensive network of media, community groups, migration organisations, and lived experience advocates nationwide, we'll amplify reach through targeted partnerships, newsletters, and regional events.
