Project aims
We are aiming to show that people in Scotland want decision makers to step up and address the climate emergency with fast, fair action to reduce emissions.
Project description
In 2021 Glasgow hosted the world's leaders and activists at COP26, however since then we've seen increasingly devastating climate impacts, Scotland failing to meet climate targets, and climate becoming an increasingly polarised issue.
As a diverse coalition, Stop Climate Chaos Scotland has a key role to play to mobilise, skill up and unite the public around this moment, to show that people in Scotland support strong, fair action, and ensure that government addresses this emergency appropriately. We want to challenge negative media and political narratives about climate change and show that Scotland is united for action.
As part of this, we are planning a number of activities this year, around political influencing, supporter engagement, traditional and digital media, and messaging. It is crucial that we carry out these activities to help ensure Scotland maintains its reputation as a climate leader internationally, so we can raise ambition amongst other countries and set a strong example of how to fairly shift to a low carbon society.
