Steppers Women of Colour WFC

A collective 30 female members

Steppers is a grassroots walking Football Club  for women of colour over  40 established in April 2021.  Walking football has a low key competitive edge that blends fitness and fun into football. We train weekly at a local school with a qualified coach incorporating exercises and drills to improve techniques.   A visible presence  where we are under represented in walking football.  We offer a supportive, inclusive,  accessible environment. Opportunity to participate in training sessions and play recreationally and or competitively in matches and tournaments. Games are 6 a side, max squad 10 players.  We play up to 4 tournaments annually just outside London. We would like the opportunity to play  nationally such as Scotland, Blackpool, Wales and Cornwall. Travel and accommodation costs have prohibited this.  We proactively work towards combating social isolation encouraging camaraderie and  cultural richness. We need funding for the following:  Tournament registration fee Travel expenses to national tournaments: transport hire / driver  /  train fares for two teams  including substitutes, coach and photographer total of 22 people.  Photo’s for our social media to raise our profile to attract further funding. Half board accommodation  for 2 day tournaments for 2 / 3  nights  Estimated cost per tournament £2,500. 6 Tournaments £15000
