Project aims
Arts integration techniques are one of the most effective, meaningful and efficient methods for teaching literacy to a wide range of learning styles and levels
Project description
Our educators are observing a wider range of reading levels in their classroom with a lack of assistance to help close the gap of understanding. Parents and students are facing a need so high that the programs available to them are insufficient. And Research evidence is clear: the early years of life and school are critical to developing the skills and habits of literacy. Hearing and crafting stories through music, dance, and drama is an exciting way to increase vocabulary, introduce concepts, and gain an appreciation for books and the joy that comes from reading. Furthermore, residencies and performances that integrate the arts into the curricula reduce social tension in school by increasing student confidence and academic success.
