Empowervan

With the van construction we aim to enable Empowervan to go on tour to the refugee camps alongside the European migration routes and work towards eliminating GBV by teaching displaced women the basic principles of self-defense with a holistic approach. We create a network of women and methods of peaceful violence prevention. We just started activities last summer and are able to visit the surrounding camps around Athens, Greece. However, if we can secure the funding to construct a structure in the back of the van, then we will be able to use it to go on tours and reach the more isolated women living in the refugee camps alongside Europe's main migration routes. What would we construct in the van? A structure with a bed, electrical appliances to live while travelling, a structure to hold the materials needed to teach the classes and an isolation to ensure warmth within the vehicle.
