Project aims
Empower young people to play an active role in peacebuilding and social change
Project description
Youth in Palestine lack adequate spaces and platform to interact and are insufficiently involved in societal change. Recognizing the peacemaking role that youth can play, this project will make particular effort to empower young Palestinians from Bethlehem aged (18-25) in the peacebuilding process and implementation of social initiatives.
Through the creation and running of innovative “Peace Club” as platforms for youth engagement we will enable young people to exchange ideas freely, create action plans and share their views and initiatives without discrimination. We will strive to train young people in peacebuilding, social initiatives, leadership skills. Young people will be trained to initiative and implement social initiatives to address issues that are important to them in their communities. Youth later act as multipliers, they pass their knowledge and experience with their communities, share their skills with other young people in peer-to-peer trainings, train students in peer-mediation, undertake community outreach efforts, and mediate conflicts themselves.
